   Ken Hall's Bio

Born and raised in a small town in western New York, Ken's career in the service industry began in Orlando, Florida in the summer of 1990 for the Walt Disney Company.  Ken moved to Florida directly out of high school and took a job working as a door host at Pleasure Island's Rock-N-Roll Beach club.  After a couple of summer's as a host, Hall moved behind the bar.  Almost eighteen years later he has made quite a career slinging drinks.

It was here that Ken was introduced to flair bartending.  Pleasure Island hosted, what at the time was, the largest flair bartending competition in the country.  It was at this event that he found his calling.  Flair was something that Hall found both enjoyment and passion.  At first, it was something that he did as a hobby, but then it grew into more than a hobby and into a profession.  After six years at Pleasure Island and one World Flair Championship, Hall left Orlando and took his skills to the Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas, Nevada.

In 1997, Ken, along with three other world class flair bartenders, moved to Las Vegas to open the now infamous VooDoo Lounge, high atop the 51st  floor of the Rio Casino.  It was here that his flair career really took off.

1997 was also the year that High Spirits Enterprises was born.  Hall and his partners knew that if they were going to have a hand in taking flair to the next level that they would need HSE to help that goal be realized.

In 1998, Ken and his HSE partner at the time, Alan Mays, came up with an idea for a World Bartending Championship like none that preceded it.  The concept was an event that would invite the world's best flair bartenders to come to Las Vegas and compete for the title of the World's Greatest Bartender.  In 1999, this concept became reality and the Legends of Bartending World Championships was born.  This year marks the 10th anniversary of what has become the most prestigious bartending challenge on the planet.

Ken's success in competitive flair bartending continued for the next 5 years, affording him 6 world bartending champiohships as well as several other titles.  He was able to travel all around the world, competing, performing and training. Flair bartending opened numerous doors for Hall and continues to do so today.  In 2005, Hall & HSE partnered with Jim Allison & the FBA to form the FBA Pro Tour, the first ever, organized flair bartending points championship.  Together Hall & Allison run six major flair championships each year.

Fifteen years after Ken Hall competed in his first flair bartending championship he continues to work to spread flair to all corners of the globe.  Hall has seen flair grow exponentially in those years and it has been very good to him.    He has travelled the world, worked in the hottest venues and been on television several times over the years.
