POUR TEST ROUND: 200pts.
-
The Pour Test Round will only be performed on Qualifying Day. The score from Qualifying Day in this round will be used towards the competitors score in both Qualifying and Finals Rounds. There will be no pourtest round performed on Finals Day.
-
The pour test round will use the Flairco Portable Bar. The bar will only have the bottles needed for the round.
-
You may fill up the excess space in the rail/well with either Tins or Flairco Flair Bottles.
-
Bottles will be put in the well and on the back bar as per the speed round schematic. If the bottles are set on the front bar in the Speed Round Schematic, then they will go on the front bar for the Pour Test Round. The same goes for the bottles on the back bar in the Speed Round Schematic, they will go on the back bar in the Pour Test Round. Bartenders may arrange bottles in the well, and the back bar any way they like. Bottles on the back bar must be in a single straight line across bar.
-
Bottles on the back bar will be sitting directly on a banquet table and not on a riser.
-
There will be one mat, sideways, between the front and back bars. (Approximately 3 feet from the front bar to the back bar.)
-
In this round bartenders will pour ten drinks as fast and as accurately as they can. Bartenders will be given eight (8) glasses and two (2) tins. The glasses will either be a 10oz. rocks glass or a 14oz. collins glass. The glasses will be labeled with the name of each drink on them. Bartenders will pour liquors only (actually water) into the empty glasses; there will be no ice or mixers. Bartenders must pour the proper bottles into the proper glasses with the proper amounts that follow the provided recipes.
-
Bartenders will be given one bottle of each liquor required. Bartenders will setup and fill their own bottles. The bottles must be set to at least 1/4 full, with the exception of the bottles designated for the required flip. The FLIP BOTTLES will be set at no less than 3oz. Bartenders will only be be able to use one of each bottle needed in the making of the drinks. Extra space in the rail may be filled with upside down tins or Flairco Bottles only.
-
Flip Bottles MUST be flipped INTO a Pour. Flipping the bottle and catching it flat then turned up into the pour will not be acceptable. - see penalty below
-
Bartenders may use their own pour-spouts in the pour-test round as long as they are free pouring and are not altered in any way. All spouts must be pre-approved prior to using by LEGENDS' Officials.
-
Bartenders will be able to arrange glasses in any order they choose as long as they are in a single straight line across the bar top. The glasses must go from left to right or right to left across the bar. They may not be lined up away from you and may not be doubled up.
-
Bartenders must use the correct bottles for each pour as specified in the provided recipes.
-
Time will start when the judge says GO and will end when the bartender says “TIME”. All bottles from the well area must be returned to the well area. All bottles from the back bar area must be returned to the back bar area. Bottles from the well and back bar do not need to be returned to the exact same spots, just the area they came from. Time may not be called with anything in bartender's hands; this will result in a penalty - see below. Any bottle not returned and/or not standing upright when the round is over will result in a penalty / penalties – see below.
-
If the bartender chooses, they may go back and add more liquid to a glass/tin if they would like, as long as time has not been called. Bartenders may also dump a pour and re-pour it, but this will fall under the DUMPED DRINK spillage penalty - see below. This must also be done before time has been called.
-
If a bartender knocks over a glass/tin before time has been called they may re-pour that pour with a COMPLETELY SPILLED DRINK spillage penalty - see below.
-
Bartenders must use either bounce pours or cut bottles and restart pours when going from glass to glass. Bartenders may not slide pour. A slide pour will result in a spillage penalty.
-
Times will be scored and calculated to the hundredth of a second. (35.45)
-
Times faster than a perfect time of 25 seconds will enter into BONUS mode, adding points instead of subtracting them.
-
Pours will be measured using an Exacto Pour System. Pours will be measured to the bottom of the meniscus. If the bottom of the meniscus is touching the over/under line it will be a bad pour. We will be using a 1/8oz variance either way.
-
All pours will be poured into the Exacto Pour System BY THE COMPETITOR using a funnel. If a competitor spills any or all of a pour while attempting to pour it into the Exacto Pour System, they may pour the remaining amount into the tube to be measured and will be penalized for each 1/8 ounce that the pour is off from the required amount, up to a maximum of 6/8 ounces. If the pour is completely spilled it will fall under the MISSING DRINK penalty. - see below.

POUR TEST SCORING:
A perfect score will be an adjusted final time of 25 seconds. Adjusted time will be determined in the following manner. Judges will add any penalty time to the bartender's actual time to get an adjusted time. The difference between the adjusted time and the perfect time of 25 seconds will be multiplied by 2.5 to determine the bartender's total deduction. The total deduction will then be subtracted from 200 points to get the bartenders final score in this round. (e.g. If you have an unadjusted time of 35.52 seconds and you have 15 seconds in penalties, then your adjusted time is 50.52 seconds. Your time difference will be 25.52 seconds. That will be multiplied by 2.5 to give you total deductions of 63.8 points. That will be subtracted from 200, giving you a final score in the pour round of 136.2 points)
**Each one-second is worth 2.5 points**
POUR TEST PENALTY:
